WASHINGTON (Aug. 8, 2020) – The President of the National Association of Realtors®, Vince Malta, made the following statement in response to the White House eviction moratorium order announced this afternoon.
"While NAR welcomes and supports the efforts of the White House to ensure that Americans in trouble can stay in their homes, we are disappointed with the government's decision not to tie an eviction moratorium on rent subsidies – as it has to be," said Malta, Broker at Malta & Co., Inc. in San Francisco, CA. "We now urge the administration and Congress to find a swift, bipartisan solution that protects both tenants and housing providers."
