WASHINGTON DC – Texas A&M University has signed a 47,418 square foot lease on 1620 L St. NW in Washington DC.
The space will serve as the new teaching location for the University of Washington DC and will house the Bush School of Government and Public Service.
Located just five blocks from the White House on five floors, the building has an outdoor deck on the third floor with an indoor / outdoor kitchen, a state-of-the-art gym, tenant-only conference facility, and ground floor space access. The space also features the latest upgrades for the lobby, elevator cars, and shared corridors. The property is located in the Golden Triangle Business Improvement District.
Doug Damron, Senior Managing Director of Newmark Knight Frank, and Chris Lucey, Managing Director, represented the tenant on the transaction. JLL's Nathan Beach represented the landlord on the deal.
"This new location makes perfect sense for the university as it helps its students gain hands-on experience in government and public service right in the heart of our country's capital," said Damron. "The class A office property met all of your requirements to develop a first-class DC campus site with an excellent location and improved infrastructure."
