SÃO PAULO – Digital Realty and Ascenty have announced the opening of four new data centers in the São Paulo metropolitan area.
The fully rented facilities are located in Jundiai, Hortolandia and Paulinia. Together, the centers add to the output of 24 megawatts and are all connected to one another via Ascenty's fiber optic network. Digital Realty will provide strategies and support to the centers.
Ascenty expects to open two more locations along with the four new data centers in the third quarter of this year. As a result of the implemented growth strategy process, Ascenty will then own 17 data centers in Latin America.
Ascenty, a joint venture between Digital Realty and Brookfield Infrastructure, is a data center services provider in Latin America. The company's data centers are linked by a 4,500-kilometer fiber-optic network.
Digital Realty is a global provider of data center, colocation and interconnection solutions to more than 2,000 companies in its portfolio in North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Australia.
