LODI, NJ – Urban Edge Properties has leased a newly converted warehouse and distribution facility in Lodi, NJ to the AAA Wholesale Group.
The former retail location will now serve as a members' wholesale club that will supply smaller grocery, deli, and convenience stores with groceries, delis, beverages, detergents, and other household items.
The building will have an additional 20,000 square meters of space available for in-store shopping for consumers.
Urban Edge Properties is currently converting the first floor of the existing building into a 103,000 square meter high-bay warehouse. Following improvements, the property at the intersection of Route 17 and Essex St. will have 26 feet of ceiling clearance, seven new loading bays, LED lighting with motion detection, a new roof, and a new parking lot.
The space, which will be the first AAA Wholesale Group location in New Jersey, is expected to create more than 100 new jobs in the area. AAA Wholesale Group currently has locations in the Bronx and Brooklyn.
