Outdoor shopping malls continue to be the preferred retail experience for consumers. By the end of August, consumer traffic in outdoor shopping malls had declined only 24.6% compared to pre-pandemic footpaths, according to the study by Placer.ai. This is a significant rebound from March and April when outdoor foot traffic decreased by nearly 100%. Indoor shopping malls haven't done that well. The same report shows that although Foo traffic in shopping malls has also improved significantly from March and April, it is still 37.2% below pre-pandemic levels.
