WINTER GARDEN, FL – For young families and professionals, Horizon West offers a range of housing options – single-family homes, townhouses, and apartments. However, older adults in their golden years face limited choices. To date there is only one senior community in the entire Horizon West region.
But that will soon change because a new church is coming in the neighborhood. In 2021, The Blake at Hamlin will open its doors to offer senior retirees tailored assisted living and memory maintenance.
At the top of the community is Managing Director Angie Layfield. While serving as Executive Director and Regional Operations Director with various organizations, including more than 16 years with a nationally recognized operator, Layfield sees The Blake at Hamlin as a unique opportunity.
"After nearly 20 years of senior life, I've never seen this before – serving in my own community," explains Layfield. "Already now, I can see The Blake at Hamlin building relationships with schools, churches and professional groups in our area. As a resident of Horizon West, I'm excited."
Joshua Bentley, Director of Sales and Marketing, helps The Blake at Hamlin become part of the neighborhood.
“Serving seniors has always been important to me, and that role enables me to have conversations with them, listen to what they need, and be their guide,” Bentley said. "It is a privilege to represent a place that has invested so much in the experience of its residents."
At Blake at Hamlin, seniors can make new friends, enjoy freshly cooked food, stroll in one of the two courtyards, and have peace of mind knowing that on-demand assistance is always available. In addition, a well-designed building footprint provides residents with an interior space that offers security and protection.
"Our community isn't all about great care," notes Layfield. "The same thoughtfulness shows in our interior and exterior aesthetics. The Blake at Hamlin looks like home and fits perfectly into the Hamlin city center location."
