PARK CITY, UT – Canyons Village Management Association (CVMA) and Columbus Pacific Development (CPD) announced the start of construction on the Canyons Village Employee Housing. As a public-private partnership between CVMA, CPD and Summit County, this unique project addresses the growing need for staff accommodation at Canyons Village on Park City Mountain.
The residents enjoy a conveniently located and modern environment all year round, which was specially designed for employees and their families. Canyons Village Specially Planned Area (SPA) is in the midst of exciting development and today marks a huge step forward in enhancing the experience for its employees, guests and stakeholders and delivering an unparalleled experience as a world-class community.
Canyons Village Employee Housing is located on 7.7 acres in the Lower Village (Lot LV6-A), adjacent to the Convertible Lift, Canyons Village Transit Hub, and holes 14 and 15 of Canyons Golf. CVMA President and CEO Brian Madacsi said, "This core initiative and essential amenities will attract and retain high-profile employees for Canyons Village. This is an important step as we continue to provide our members with an unrivaled world-class experience and we are thrilled to start this project with such great partners. "
The project will accommodate over 1,107 employees in 789 bedrooms, seven buildings, four residential units and three different and flexible forms of living. In addition to traditional two- to four-room apartments and terraced houses, the project will also accommodate single, double and triple rooms and an innovative 10-room co-living floor plan.
"We are excited to be part of the solution to one of the most critical problems Park City is facing today: accessible, quality housing for residents and employees," said Tony Tyler, a partner at CPD. "This project is a visionary collaboration with CVMA and Summit County and will give Canyons Village a competitive advantage by providing a place to live, work and play in Park City for its employees."
With access to convenient transportation such as free public transportation, Canyons Village Connect, and the convertible lift that takes individuals to the village center, this affordable project will become an affordable project for the many employers in Canyons Village, including Park City Mountain and the numerous year-round lodging, retail outlets – and restaurants. "Summit County is excited to work together in this innovative and necessary effort. Providing a unique opportunity like this fits in perfectly with our goals of creating an improved living and working environment for employees and easy access to public transportation. This project is instrumental in the development of Canyons Village and Summit County, "said Tom Fisher, Summit County manager.
