Hiding From Process Server Didn't Save Company From $27.5M Award Against It

A company whose president has gone to great lengths to avoid litigation servers cannot overturn a default judgment that included $ 27.5 million in damages, a New Jersey appeals court ruled.

The defendant Goldstar Performance Products from East Hanover had announced the lawsuit in good time, although its President Steven Hankin refused to open the door through a process server during nine visits to his house, the appeals court said.
