Ongoing job creation, increased consumer spending and the continued return of the workforce to the office supported the recovery of the commercial real estate market across all real estate sectors in the first half of 2021.
Subject to a major resurgence of coronavirus cases due to the Delta variant that could lead to yet another economic stalemate, NAR Research expects sales and commercial leasing to expand in 2021 and more in 2022, with new office construction in the pipeline becoming office vacancy expected to remain at the current level in 2022 as well.
