In July 2021, NAR surveyed its members on sustainability issues in the industry. Among the findings:

  • Eighteen percent of respondents said their Commercial Information Exchange (CIE) had green data fields and the CIE green data fields were used to promote energy information and green functions.
  • A majority of brokers and brokers (69%) stated that the promotion of energy efficiency in the offers was very or rather valuable.
  • 37 percent of brokerage firms had experience converting commercial buildings, such as converting empty shopping centers into technical schools.
  • The building features that REALTORS® found most important to customers included operating and operating costs, indoor air quality, efficient use of lighting, windows, doors and furnishings.
