'Very Problematic' Facebook Deposition Could Add to Gibson Dunn's Sanctionable Conduct

A federal judge already mulling possible sanctions against Facebook’s lawyers in privacy lawsuits excoriated the Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher team again for their conduct during a recent deposition.

U.S. District Judge Vince Chhabria, who earlier invited plaintiffs’ lawyers to bring a sanctions motion over Gibson Dunn’s “dilatory discovery conduct”, questioned firm partner Rosemarie Ring last week about a May 5 deposition in which Facebook’s lawyers allegedly instructed the witness not to answer at least 22 times.
