The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue’s apparent disinclination to collect taxes from Amazon drew criticism from judges during oral arguments over a Pennsylvania tax collection program Wednesday.

Deputy attorney general Alexander Korn fielded questions from several members of the Commonwealth Court en banc panel asking why the Department of Revenue was looking to collect outstanding sales taxes from individual merchants selling through Amazon rather than from the e-commerce giant itself.
