What You Need to Know

Prior to this month’s trial, Bayer won six Roundup verdicts in a row, including a Nov. 9 defense win in the same courtroom before St. Louis County Circuit Judge Brian May.
Bartlit Beck partners Kat Hacker and Mark Ouweleen represented Bayer, along with Christine Miller of Husch Blackwell.
Aimee Wagstaff and Fidelma Fitzpatrick represented plaintiff Sharlean Gordon, who was diagnosed in 2006 with non-Hodgkin lymphoma after years of spraying Roundup in her Illinois yard.

A Missouri jury took about five hours to deal Bayer its seventh win in a row over Monsanto’s Roundup pesticide.

The verdict, reached late Tuesday, came after closing arguments earlier that day in a trial that began about a month ago in Clayton, Missouri, near Monsanto’s St. Louis headquarters.
